Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Suspended, reverted. Incidentally, this is yet another case of YMMV for unreleased works, something we'd like to move towards eliminating.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"We've had knee-jerk Speculative Troping on the main page for unreleased works as well, just not as many as YMMV recently. We've said, as a wiki, that episode Recap pages aren't allowed to be made until the work is officially released, so it would be more consistent if we forbid any pages being made until the release (exception made for Darth Wiki).

Ah, the good ol' "no, it's the people who complain about racism who are the real racists" defense. Bold strategy, especially when it was readded by a Mod Revert and extending an edit war.
Edited by Larkmarn Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I don't know if it should be restored being that it's a YMMV entry for an unreleased film, and it's probably preferable to not have any examples up now regardless of validity because these reactions are speculative.
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallHonestly Im in favour of their not being a ymmv page untill after the work releases. The page ends up filled with stuff that often turns out to just be speculation anyway and we often get lots of complaining.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I'll throw in my vote for prohibiting YMMV pages for unreleased works. Hopefully it cuts down on the wonking and whining.
"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."The only thing that I worry about is losing pre-release Memetic Mutation, but that's hardly a huge deal.
Also, it seems like it would be a pretty difficult thing to manage logistically, since in theory it would mean locking every YMMV page until the release date. Maybe have it as more of a zero tolerance policy for YMMV pages of unreleased works; if they breed drama it's "cut/lock first, ask questions later"?
Anyhoo, for the time being I'm restoring the example, citing this thread and the fact that there was already a mod revert on it.
Edited by Larkmarn Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.My two cents: So what do we do with the works that have YMMV pages that haven't been released now like Kingdom Hearts 3? Delete everything on the pages and lock it until it's finally been released?
And what about when a new work is announced and someone makes a page for it? Are we going to just automatically prevent people from making a YMMV page immediately after it's made? Because if that's the idea, then the new page would have to have a mod making sure it's locked almost as soon as a work is made to keep people from making a YMMV for it.
Locking YMMV pages for unreleased works will, imho, be very good in the long run. That way, we won't have to proof-read entire walls of text gushing over a single shot of the trailer, which is probably taken out of context and means something completely different, anyway. Not to mention that most of the pre-release material has to be corrected when the film/series is released.
As far as the original entry is concerned, I think it's not Unfortunate Implications, but Values Dissonance. In the era the book/film is taking place, seeing a non-white as expendable was the norm. And, again, until we know what happened exactly, it's probably best to leave it out. I mean, Nagini could have volunteered to become a soul vessel. (Unlikely, I know.)
- Fly, robin, fly! - ...I'm trying!

May Love 25 has now twice-deleted a valid and cited example of Unfortunate Implications from YMMV.FantasticBeastsTheCrimesOfGrindelwald
.
The first time with no edit reason, so I restored it. They then deleted it again with the edit reason of basically "nuh-uh!"
