This is a question for Trope Finder rather than Ask the Tropers. Requesting a mod lock, please.
Is there a trope for when there's something scary that first appears in the background and then slowly gets closer and closer frame-by-frame? The effect is a gradual build up of tension until the final scene where the scary thing is suddenly RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU! It's almost like a slow motion jump scare even though you see it coming.
