So then what's the point of Just for Fun? We might as well nuke all Just for Fun pages because they're fanfiction.

Sometime it's to trope Show Within a Show by treat it like an actual work. Sometime it's sort of a joke.
But yeah, maybe we should do mass cleaning for once. Just found JustForFun.Anne Frank Vampire, and I think the joke is completely lost. My best guess is that it follow an example of JustForFun.Disneys Anne Frank, but the latter is based on an actual joke.

Just for Fun doesn't mean "anything goes". And yes, it could probably stand some curation.
Regardless, we've had a long-standing rule that our site is not to be used to host original works of fiction, with the exception of certain collaborative projects that are or have been explicitly sanctioned. That trumps any policy regarding JFF.

Why was this restored?
The editor added a note saying "(Warning, this not fanfiction, this is purely just for fun)". However, the premise of the page is exactly the same as it was before it was cut.

This discussion has got me wondering, which pages listed on JustForFun.Super Smash Bros are worth keeping?
They have replied, and they're continuing to justify it by saying it's "for fun". I've linked them to this query.
This is literally fanfiction. Saying "this is not fanfiction" doesn't make it stop being fanfiction.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.
I say burn it and everything listed on that page.
If WarJay is right about this recreation and the October one being done by the same person, that's an edit war.

You know, I was about to ask why this thread title and a lot of people are saying "fan fiction" despite the thrust of the problem being completely different.

^^I misread your post. I didn't check the history myself, so I thought you were saying it was remade in both October and this month, not that it was only remade in October and just wasn't brought up again until this month.

They sent me another message. This time, they're justifying it by saying other tropers contributed "non-fanfiction" content to the page. That's not relevant IMO.
I feel the page should be moved to the Permanent Red Link Club. If not, tropers like Vamp Fish 100 will simply recreate it and we'll have this problem all over again.

I've processed the cuts and locked the one page that's contentious. We'll see if the others get remade. If so, some bans will occur.

I understand the justification for cutting the page, but is there no way to at least keep an archive so that people's writing isn't purged with no clear way of preserving it?
TV Tropes is not for original content (with a few specifically designated exceptions). You should not put it on here, and there is no guarantee that it will remain or be retrievable if cut.

Seems like this is a serious point of contention amongst the tvtropes users. A lot of people try to use this site to advertise their fanfiction sometimes....
The inquiry has already been settled. Anyone worth their salt will have their stuff backed up. And there's a difference between making a page for a fic and literally making it word for word on a page.
