I can't think what it is, but here's another example: In The Dark Knight, two kids are sitting in a car, mime-shooting imaginary guns at the cars on the street. Suddenly there is an explosion where they were aiming, making it look as though they caused it, although we know they didn't.

Another example: In The Lion King, Simba and Nala are cornered by hyenas, and Simba tries to roar, which the hyenas find laughable. Then Simba tries again, but this time Mufasa's roar covers it.

Eh, I'm not sure the first and second one is that.

I think I see what you all are talking about, but I'm having trouble with a writeup too. It's like two things happen at the same time in such a way it appears something happened that didn't happen.

If this is truly different than Framed for Heroism, how about Misleading Simultaneousness or Deceptive Simultaneousnes?

It's a supertrope to Framed for Heroism.

The name I had in mind was Correlation/Causation Gag.
