I remember a children's show which, if I recall correctly, was shown after (or maybe during) the "summer calendar" in Sweden around... '97? '98? I'm fairly certain it was subbed, which was quite odd for children's programming. The show revolved around a boy who had been in a coma for several years, and the plot cut between his friends and family trying to... do something, maybe cure him? Biding their time?... and him trying to find a way to escape from the elaborate construct that kept him trapped inside his mind.
I never watched the show closely, but there are two things I remember from it. The first, and lesser, was from a late point in the show after he had woken up, and involved a surreal scene where some characters were being threatened by kids dressed as Mi Bs - wielding large water guns - who were demanding toys for some reason, perhaps passage?
The second, which is what has kept the show in mind for all these years, was an episode maybe around the middle of the series (don't know) where the comatose boy encounters a witch or something who I think lit a candle and told him which way to take to wake up. On the way out he would be tempted by seemingly real visions, but was told that, whenever someone asked or invited him for something, he must decline by saying "I must go to the Tower."
I never saw the whole episode about the Tower, so I have no idea how it ended. Nevertheless, I recall being very intrigued by this surreal, nay philosophical, episode, even though I was very young, and I've been trying to remember its name for years now. I've found naught on Google; mayhap someone here knows of the show in question?
