In visual media, whenever a character walks into a room, you see them open a door, but rarely do they close it, even if the character logically should because they are running from someone, doing something private, or it's the sort of door that no one ever leaves open (like the front door to a house).
This is likely due to the Law of Conservation of Detail, or because scene is being filmed from the angle of someone standing in the doorway, but it brings up a lot of Fridge Logic. When I see this, I often expect an enemy or unwanted person to walk through the open door, but this rarely happens.
