Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Those last entries are really misuse. Especially theven animal ones.
Most (if not all) of those sound more like Accidental Nightmare Fuel, whose examples go under Nightmare Fuel, not Nightmare Retardant. Also, I'm not sure what "unintentional Fridge Horror" means in the case of the Dem Bones one. Wouldn't "intentional Fridge Horror" just be Nightmare Fuel?
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.I think the editors who added the latter wrong examples dont have any idea what the trope is about.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I went ahead and cut the animal-related ones. Since they were added as second bullet points tacked onto a general example, it was easy to know what to cut.
Edit: I mean the animal-related ones in the first post, not ones like the example for very small dogs failing to be intimidating even when growling angrily.
Edited by GastonRabbit Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Thank you, I will remove Metal Gear one on the ground of misuse too (with note that it might count as narm). I might have to give it more thoroughly look later.
The latest example make me think it's on advance state of Trope Decay.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Gecko isn't suppose to be scary. The worse offender are these entries.
So basically, instead of (from laconic) "Meant to be scary, but isn't." some examples are more of "Does not meant to be scary, and it isn't, but I think it should". It is no longer about audience reaction, it's WMG.
