Almost every time I see that the character seems to be drunk and doing the coal miner's dance. I always just assumed it was equivalent to Lampshade Wearing. If so would it fit under that as a sign person is (or is trying to be) the fun drunk party person?

This signature says something else when you aren't looking at it.

In those I've seen it didn't involve drinking, done by a Large Ham in Dominion Tank Police and a mobile Brain in a Jar in Ghost In The Shell (in the latter it seems to be a visual shorthand for "man this guy's old").
