Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
This has been talked about on the forum a great many times, and the mods all want this to happen. The mods have no magic tool to do it. It needs to be done manually and the more people who help the better.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickHas it? Okay.
I hadn't seen a recent post from her on the subject.
Fair enough. I wanted to be sure.
Most of this was decided months ago. It's not a new thing. I'm not sure there's been anything recent.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI've seen it mentioned multiple times that it's something that the mods want done, and I've been looking for something to do. (Although I'll admit that it can be pretty tedious.)
FalconPain: You could have sent me a PM. I don't bite. Promise. :)
Yes, current orders from Fast Eddie suggest moving any work pages you find to the appropriate Name Space and then changing the wiks to reflect this. However, if you're going to do it, do it right, don't just copy the page over and call it a day. I have not checked Lady Momus' work, this is not a reflection on you, just something I've seen.
Fight smart, not fair.
I just noticed an odd situation with Lady Momus. Her current project, according to her troper page, seems to be taking various video games, moving them to the Video Game namespace, and changing every single wick to reflect this. (Edit history)
I wasn't aware that this was necessary for games that don't have similarly-titled works in other media, and I haven't noticed any discussion on the subject. I'm worried that this project, if it wasn't a consensus, will lead to a lot of busywork that accomplishes little.
(Besides, isn't there a magic admin technique that could accomplish the same thing faster if we really wanted this?)
