That would depend if the characters in question have an Author Avatar status. Bear in mind that Self-Deprecation can apply in-universe to characters who are authors or creators themselves in the setting.
In any case, any example of Self-Deprecation directly related to the work's actual creators, need to be moved to Trivia.
"They played us like a DAMN FIDDLE!" — Kazuhira Miller, Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain^Self-Deprecation isn't a Trivia trope, and either way Trivia tropes for Creator pages go directly on the page and not a separate page.
You can't just say "perchance".It's a trope that can be done in real life, aka Truth in Television.

Some examples are in-universe characters deprecating themselves, but some are the authors of the work deprecating themselves, and the image is an example of the latter. Thus, I am a bit confused: is this trope both in and out-universe, or just out-universe?
