Looking at it in context, it's one of several examples where the hindsight part is Freddie Mercury keeping his illness secret. I've had a go at refactoring them so that they're all together under a single explanation of the situation.

If something was originally intended to be funny or lighthearted, that's "Funny Aneurysm" Moment. Harsher in Hindsight is for when already negative things end up getting worse. Regardless of what was going on behind the scenes, it sounds like they wanted the song to be seen as lighthearted based on the "silly joke song" comment, so it sounds like the former trope would apply.
