Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
We can retrieve the old version of the article, but it's been edited a bunch of times since then, and a flat reversion would lose all of that work. Would dumping it to a sandbox work, so others could determine what's still missing?

I clicked on a few of their edits at random to see if there was a recurrence but nothing jumped out at me. If someone else wants to do a more in depth hunt though.
Would the appropriate thing to do be to message the troper and ask them to clean it up and put back the stuff they removed, perhaps?
This was not done deliberately. I recognize the pattern from what has happened to me and several other tropers. The troper opens the edit window, makes a small change and then closes it. What they don't know is that a huge chunk of text has been deleted without their knowledge. The resulting edit history shows a bizarre mixture of red and green text, exactly as in this case.
The only change they meant to make was the first one, to the Code Geass example. All of the rest was the result of the system glitch.

Check out the edit to Pyrrhic Victory by Agent Skyblue M 7 on November 25, 2017. Best I can tell, a bunch of examples were removed from the page, which was disguised by the botched coding for viewing diffs.
So... how do we handle this situation without having to manually reconstruct the page from scratch?
