I read this book back when I was in elementary school, so it's probably children's literature.
All I remember was that it was about this group of people who lived like it was maybe the 1800's? But it was really present day. They were actually like some living museum attraction thing, if I remember right. I do remember the "village" that they lived in got some kind of terrible disease that went around, and present-day people (the people who ran the museum? I'm not sure) wouldn't help them. It revolved around a little girl, and the mom sent the girl out to get help. I also think I remember something about there being hidden video cameras everywhere, and something about the mirrors either being one-way or also some sort of recording device?
I don't remember the resolution at all, and it's really bothering me. Anybody know the name of this book?
