Cheated Angle has to do with design features, such as Mickey Mouse's ears, staying the same shape from different angles which isn't the trope I was talking about. Snap to the Side appears to be a subtrope of the one I'm talking about that has to do with a fight scene with a character's back facing another.
A example of the trope I'm talking about here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUYM5WNdNGc&t=2m43s The blonde guy's face is drawn as if he is looking directly to his left so we can his face, but he's supposedly looking at the kitsune in the background.
Edited by EverdreamSpeaking as an artist, it's Cheated Angle, Cheeky Mouth, or Snap to the Side depending on circumstances.
The live action equivalent is Social Semi-Circle, thanks to the rule of theater that you never face away from the audience, even when two characters are talking directly to each other.

Is there a trope for when a cartoon character is supposedly looking directly at another character, but their face is positioned so that the audience can see their facial expression, so they are not actually looking directly at the other character but off to the side? This is a common trope but most people don't notice it, and it can be distracting when you first notice it.
