What is a roleplay roleplaying game?

And yeah, it sounds like it ought to be in Roleplay/.

A work that calls itself an RPG (Role Play), and appears to be not one of Table Top or VG type listed in Role Play, but is in Video Game.

See my Suburban Senshi ATT I edited a link to, above.

I will admit that I don't know anything about this particular game, but the trope list looks like it is troping players and events in the game rather than the game itself, which just seems odd.

Seems like something you can simply move...

I believe he's done said move, but I think he's wondering if it's a symptom of a larger issue. Could theoretically be worthy of a Short Term Project if so.

Roleplays are something of a fraught issue when it comes to troping. To be a good candidate for a wiki article, an RP:

  • Must be published or publicly visible. If it's a private game, then there's no verifiability and we can't host an article.
  • Must trope the story and characters of the RP itself, not the players and/or their OOC antics.
  • Should be intended for publication as a discrete work, either originally or after the fact. Casual RPs generally don't take the time to document everything for publication, and so end up being troped as a series of anecdotes and player antics rather than as coherent works. These make for lousy wiki articles.

If there are a lot of articles bending or breaking these rules, then a Projects topic may be called for.

Troping RL people is out, even in RP pages. That can be fixed.

How well does it match the trope?
