It is possible that they were musicians. While "TV pretty", they were definitely not models. I think there were 5 of them... pretty certain it was 2 girls and 3 guys but it could have been 6 with 3 a piece. I do know that 1 girl was brunette. I think another girl had curly blondish hair. One of the girls and 1 of the guys had a relationship. It took place in a larger city (not much help there...sorry).
The city has a major river with ports. The episode in which the brunette is killed or thought killed, she was walking alone back towards loft through an alley near docks. She is stabbed (red shirt) and lands on some trash next to chain link fence. I think the group back at the loft receive a call from the morgue, but something gave me the impression that it was mistaken identity and she might be alive (I could be wrong) but I never found out. The episode ended on that cliff-hanger, but I believe that that there was at least one episode after that.

It was one of those shows that I don't believe even made it a full season, but it has a group of young adults and they lived in a loft above (I think) either a Chinese restaurant or a grocery store. At one point they all worked together to put up some partitions to give a little privacy for the girl (s). I think the bathtub was in the middle of this huge open space. As the series went on, there was some killer targeting brunettes and one of/ the girl was believed to be a victim. There was one episode after that that I never saw and I never found out if it was her or a mistake. I've looked at "The Heights", but the storyline doesn't seem to match. Also have looked at "Catwalk" and I don't recall it being so hokey. It could have been a band—suggesting "The Heights"— but again, I cannot find anything about this girl fitting the profile of the stabbing victims (young, brunette, pretty). Both shows I've mentioned seem to fit the timeline for show. Any ideas out there?
