Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

I think Acceptable Political Targets should be removed. One group is invariably going to get offended and it can cause a flame war. Given how heated politics are in this day and age, I stand by my suggestion.
Honestly, I never got why Acceptable Targets is YMMV. It's an objective trope whether a work treats a target as acceptable or not.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Acceptable Targets was added to YMMV (now YMMV.Home Page) in 2010, which pre-dates the Classifying Tropes, Trivia, YMMV, Audience Reactions and Flame Bait
and Pages that need the YMMV banner
threads. There's nothing on the discussion pages, so I'd say it was probably unilateral. I'm not sure if the lack of consensus is really important since nobody complained about it for seven years.
Is this starting to sound like a TRS-related issue?
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyOkay made the TRS thread.
Not sure if these issues need wick checks but I'll work on one if necessary (please just let me know).

I brought this up in the ROCEJ thread (courtesy link
) concerning Acceptable Political Targets, but then I looked on some of the other Acceptable Targets pages and there are massive grammatical and parabombing issues. There's also a potential issue with editors unilaterally adding speculation, e.g., why such-and-such group is disliked and by whom. According to Acceptable Targets, adding groups to these lists does not require any sort of consensus, and I agree with that within reason. But the speculative stuff should, imo, have some discussion first.
As was brought up in the discussion page of Acceptable Political Targets (link
) a few years ago, listing every single (political) group waters down the trope to the point where it's just a list of political groups rather than "acceptable targets." Someone also argued that individuals should not be listed as an acceptable target, and I agree with that because the trope is about groups, not individuals (which is more akin to Asshole Victim).
My point being that there are also the issues of "every group under the sun" and "individuals being listed."
Should these YMMV articles go through TRS or should they get a short-term clean-up project?
