Was it stated in the article that it's in-universe? It looks like the editor who deleted it thought that the example was saying that the creators didn't research properly, rather than a character.
Edit: Also, in-universe examples of tropes that would otherwise be YMMV go on the main page, not the YMMV page, with text saying it's in-universe.

System Specs: GPU, CPU, Dell Inspiron laptop, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bitNo. That's about people unfamiliar with a work getting facts about it wrong, while this is about more basic stuff being wrong. The main Critical Research Failure page even has examples that aren't in-universe, with in-universe examples being below them.
