Sounds like that could fit under Acceptable Breaks from Reality.

Or are you asking specifically about the fact that Hollywood is now trying to do it more realistically?

Are you suggesting that the trope is ignoring the cartridge cases, or adding them in after the myth is busted?

What kind of guns are you talking about? Maybe it's Follow the Leader.

The changeover that Hollywood is NOW trying for more realistically. They did not use to counted as Acceptable Breaks because, it is so fiddly. They Did the Research and More Dakka fit the modern fashion. I want a trope for the change in fashion.

Mythbusters started in 2003. The Matrix is from 1999.

Rambo, First Blood, Part II (1985) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVUCdy36TKE&t=0m34s

Apocalypse Now (1979) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkrhkUeDCdQ&t=0m59s

And is a "change in fashion" even tropable? Any individual movie either does it or doesn't.
