I think it is possible to subvert it. As an example: Character A assumes Character B has wet themselves due to a look of embarrassment on their faces after getting spooked all of a sudden. It turns out Character B's undies were dry all along and they were only embarrassed because they got scared.
That example does have parabombing in it, so at least remove that part. I'm not sure about the rest of it, though.
Parabombing is when a troper adds parenthetical asides to an article. Courtesy link: Parabombing.
One of the moderators defined it as a sub-category of Natter since they function almost the same as second-level bullets that Natter usually takes the form of.

There is this entry on Tv Tropes "Bring My Brown Pants" that states:
Subverted in Jack Neo's film We Not Naughty, the third film in his I Not Stupid trilogy. Weijie and Jianren believe that Mrs. CK has wet herself in fright, due to Jianren's erratic driving (granted, they were escaping from gangsters), however, instead, she is about to go in labor.
However, I am not so sure if it is a subverted example, because this trope is one that I cannot really see as subverted. Any suggestions to entry change?
