i do remember this show! i just googled for hours and found your post (i see its been years ago though). i was almost positive that the girl was played by Hayden Panetierre but her imdb/wiki make no mention of it. I even check Nick's wiki page of all their programming and couldn't find anything. ibalso vaguely remember the show using a boat or being near a lighthouse. and i am sure it was during the summer of 1999 or 1998.

Okay....this has been driving me crazy for YEARS. So, during the 1990's (probably something like 1996-1999) there was an interactive mini series that aired during commercials on Nickelodeon. It starred a young girl with like fluffy blonde curly hair and her dog. I think she wrote things down in one of those black and white competition notebooks? The concept of the mini show was to help this girl find her missing dog..who I believe gets kidnapped by some bad guys? The viewer had to solve puzzles that were shown during the quick 1-3 minute segments and then you could go to your Nick.com account and upload your answers. Then your username would be shown during the next "episode" indicating that you helped solve that puzzle? I remember one of the answers to the puzzle was connected to a stolen painting and the answer was: "A picture is worth 1000 words"...i think that's all the details i remember. As a young kid I remember thinking this was amazing. It was fun and exciting and you got credit on television for helping! Please if anyone remembers this let me know! :)
