Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.

To be frank, it's one of those arbitrary decisions that only makes sense when you consider that the wiki, including the namespace system, has grown organically rather than out of any sort of concentrated administrative effort. For example, if we're really focused on medium as an organizational principle, then having both animated films and animated series go under Western Animation, while Anime is a distinct namespace, is insane. But changing it now would be all but impossible. So we deal.
Edited by Fighteer "It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I wouldn't use Recap, since technically the TCW movie and the animated series are distinct works. Recap is a type of work subpage that wouldn't apply in this case.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Well, the WesternAnimation/ page does specify that "The theatrical film had originally begun as a four-part-opening arc for the series but was converted into a Compilation Movie after Lucas screened the episodes himself." So the two being distinct works is arguable.
Although there are cases where a season / part of a work has received its own page under the same namespace (like Series.Torchwood Miracle Day or WesternAnimation.Archer Dreamland, so there is precedent for this too.
Edited by StFanI mean, if there's general agreement that they're all one work in practice, then fine, do it that way.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"

There is a problem with Film.Star Wars The Clone Wars. It is using the Film/ despite being an animated movie, which is incorrect. However, WesternAnimation.Star Wars The Clone Wars is already taken by the page for the whole TV series (of which this movie is considered a pilot).
In such a case, my guess would be to use the Recap/ namespace, and rename this page something like "Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Movie)"
