The main reason, as I understand, is that shows that get recap pages are usually long runners, so if you put all the trope examples on a single page they'd collapse into a singularity or something.

when pages get to a certain length, you can't edit them except to delete stuff. Anything you add to it doesn't register and so it stays as it was before you edited it.

I have to say that I love the idea of critical trope mass causing a singularity implosion...I wonder what would be on the other side :o)

@The One Who Tropes: Then separate them (i.e. Tropes A-F, G-M, etc.) BEFORE that happens. That's what these guys have been doing to a lot of pages now. Also, there's a number of characters in the code at the bottom of the page, too.

But why arbitrarily divide them by alphabet when you could meaningfully divide them by which episode they appear in?
