I disagree with you that there should be a note about the shooting in the article, but everything else about that monstrosity is giving me a heart attack.

Possible link to banned topic. Wedging two completely unrelated topics into the same paragraph. A tangent about violence in games. An opinion piece on gender distribution with no clear link to anything.

I am exercising great willpower to not remove that entire thing myself now. And I would not blame anyone who did.

The mention of the shooting is merely to explain that the designers, programmers and hosts wore rainbow ribbons at all times during the event, as a sign of solidarity and humanity to the affected ones. The original entry had no problem until the troper used it as a backup to add that unnecessary material they added. On the other hand, if removing everythting is the only way to guarantee that this unwanted side material will never return, then I'll respectfully accept it.

Those aren't the only things that really annoyed me about that section. The whole thing is terribly put together and tastes like logical fallacy. But I can't put my finger on which ones.

Backed out their edit and said to continue on the discussion page. I agree that the violence thing does not belong there, too soapbox-like.
