Dark Blue World
, about Czechoslovak fighter pilots during the Battle of Britain contains a sub-plot similar to the one you mention.

A movie set in WWII Britain with the two main characters being a married woman and her rural neighbor who is a younger man. The woman's husband is away at war and presumed dead. The younger man starts to have an affair with her and it gets very serious between them.
There's an emotional scene where the woman says she feels guilty for wishing her husband was truly dead so she could move on and continue with the younger man.
The younger man goes to visit her only to find that the husband has returned and if I remember right, the husband makes love to her while the lover secretly watches, not as a pervert, but as someone who just lost a lover.
I think this was made around 1996 or as late as 2000.
