Yep, that's it. IMDB doesn't list a book credit, but Wikipedia says it's indirectly based on The Turning Point. Also I remember Liv Ullman's name stood out to me at the time. Thanks!

Okay. So there's this nonfiction book about deep physics. Quantum and relativistic stuff. I don't think it gets into string theory. This book was adapted into a feature-length scripted movie, I want to say in the 80s or 90s. The plot appears to entirely consist of three strangers who meet in a museum or something and just wander around talking about physics.
What is this movie/book?
