Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help. It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread for ongoing cleanup projects.

Making an article solely for self-promotion is frowned upon. When making a work article, it is best if you approach it as a neutral party rather than an author. In particular, authors may not:

  • Add any tropes that would go on a YMMV, Sugar Wiki, or Darth Wiki subpage.
  • Add Word of God statements or any other Trivia item that is based on information not available to the public.
  • Argue over factual issues related to the work from a privileged position. ("I know better, I'm the author.")

Further, The Fic May Be Yours, but the Trope Page Is Ours. You have no ownership claim or IP interest in the TV Tropes article, even if you wrote it. You can't delete it because you decide, later, that you don't like us having an article for your work.

If the fanwork is not published (available for others to read), then you must put it in Darth Wiki and index it under Unpublished Works.

That's what I just said, I had planned to just list objective/non-YMMV tropes and base plot summary with links.
