Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help. It's not for everything, though. You would go to SelfDemonstrating.Sound Effect Bleep and start editing.

I don't think we need that, though. I honestly don't think we need that first paragraph either. The page quote and image do a good enough job of demonstrating the trope; having a tediously confusing first paragraph to illustrate it too is overkill and annoying.

You are right about the first paragraph being redundant. May I go ahead and remove it?

On an unrelated note: Why are Laconic, Sandbox or Self Demonstrating not included in the "Create New" dropdown list?

Well, there's not a lot of reason for people to be making sandbox pages, and the mods are trying to discourage superfluous self-demonstrating pages.

As for Laconic... I couldn't tell you. Might want to take that one to the Wiki Tech Wish List.

EDIT: For the actual on-topic question... well, I think it can safely be deleted, but you might want to wait for more input.

FWIW, I agreee that the self-demonstrating paragraph serves no purpose on the main page and should be removed. If you feel it's worth keeping it should be moved to a separate, Self-demonstrating page.

^^ Because bad laconics are a scourge on the Wiki, and we are still trying to make some of the laconics match the trope/ work they're about. Bad laconics on trope pages with an unclear mishmash of a description leads to shoehorning, which leads to Trope Derailment, which leads to massive clean-up issue.

^ I think you mean Trope Decay, but alright. Gotcha.
