Right. So I did that, and the request got declined. Along with a bunch of WMG subpages for tropes I also Cut Listed. Have the rules changed about these subpages being allowed now?

Try cutlisting them again with a very detailed reason. The cutmasters rarely examine the pages themselves to see if they're appropriate, and the more laconic the reason, the higher the chance of decline.

What more could I say though? Trope page aren't allowed to have Audience Reaction subpages, and that's the reason I gave.

Who did say that trope pages can't have WMG subpages? Headscratchers was decided by a forum discussion but there is nothing here.

(as an aside, we really need to find a better way to handle cut requests than the cutlist. I've filed some concepts there for 2.0)

I think Fighteer once mentioned that tropes aren't supposed to have YMMV, WMG or Headscratchers subpages, or any of those audience reaction stuffs that basically allows people to argue about the definitions. And I've seen several pages getting cut for exactly that reason.

A lot of it are fan speculations about why the trope exists, why some characters invoke the trope, or theories about real world stuffs that is somewhat related to the trope.

There's a whole bunch of them listed in this index: WMG.TV Tropes Wiki
