Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Love It or Hate It is a legit Audience Reaction — he's wrong on that one.
As for Dude, Not Funny!... uh, hmm... it's on BOTH the YMMV and In-Universe Examples Only pages — no wonder there's confusion.
Mods?
EDIT: I'm 90% certain it should be in-universe only since otherwise it'd be a gateway for all sorts of nattery complaining, but wait for a mod to confirm before we commence cleaning.
Edited by DracMonsterAlright. Just to clarify for the mods, the page is the YMMV page for Breadwinners, and this is what I posted on that page, which was removed:
- Dude, Not Funny!: Virtually the entirety of "Love Loaf" is considered unwatchable by many people because the entire plot is essentially SwaySway attempting to commit date rape on Jenny Quackles, who, due to the fact that SwaySway has a job and Jenny's still young enough to go to summer camp, may be significantly younger than him. In particular the moment when he tries to shove the titular Love Loaf into Jenny's mouth with a manic, almost psychotic look in his eyes is generally considered to be extremely disturbing.
We have a Scrappy Episode YKTTW
for what its worth.
Edit: Never mind, that was discarded.
Edited by DracMonsterDude, Not Funny! has come up on ATT before.
It's In-Universe Examples only. The YMMV banner is a bug of some sort that I never clearly understood.
A mod or three should be along in the next three or four hours to confirm as needed. :)
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettI guess that the confusion in Love It or Hate It is because the last line has a link to the In Universe Examples Only page.
Edited by MagBasOne of the things in the wiki wishlist is a new banner for In Universe Examples Only Tropes to avoid situations like this.
Though seriously it should be removed from the YMMV Index because it's effectively objective once it's made IUEO.
The technical answer is that it's a YMMV trope, being an Audience Reaction, but it's too much of a natter magnet to allow examples. It's very much an Audience Reaction—You can still experience a Dude, Not Funny! moment, you just can't post it as an example.
IUEO and YMMV are not mutually exclusive, but they do interact in weird ways.
I'm starting to think they should be thoroughly separated and designated two different things.
So should I reinstate the Love It or Hate It entry but leave my own entry removed?

I'm just curious, I added a Dude, Not Funny! entry to the YMMV page of an article and it was removed later that day by another troper who cited as the reason that only in-universe examples are allowed to be posted. Is this true? I have seen Dude, Not Funny! EVERYWHERE on the YMMV pages of many works citing instances of the show or creator playing something really sick for laughs that the general audience didn't find amusing. Are all of those entries on all of those YMMV pages really against the rules, or did the person who removed it mistakenly read the instructions on the page itself that only in-universe examples are allowed to be posted on the main page for Dude, Not Funny! itself?
Incidentally, the troper also said the same thing regarding the trope Love It or Hate It, so while I'm at it I guess I should ask if that removal should be undone too.
