I mainly remember a scene where the main character is in a restaurant and begins to suspect that he's in a dream (or possibly reliving a past memory): At one point he walks away from the people he's sitting with and tries to get a look at the face of a patron who was sitting alone and facing away from him - even when he gets in front of this person, he's still only seeing the back of their head. I guess the implication was that this was a real place he'd been before, and he remembered it down to what some stranger looked like from behind, but of course he'd never seen their face. Given the "reliving past memories" idea, I've been thinking it could have been Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, but I'm not too sure.
Update: I guess it is in fact Eternal Sunshine - something like the scene is alluded to in the ymmv section of that page as Nightmare Fuel.
