Someone asked this on Yahoo Answers a few years ago. It's a TV movie called Reunion. http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0110981/

So I remember some events from a film, but I'm not sure if what I remember are from one film or two different ones. The first I remember is this sad film where a mother puts her kid to sleep and when she and her husband start to make out in bed, they hear the boy calling but they decide it's probably nothing and continue kissing. Next morning when she goes to wake the boy, she discovers that the rope from the toy horse she allowed him to have in bed somehow got wrapped around his neck while he slept and he got strangled. The next I remember which I'm not sure is from the same film is a woman who keeps seeing the ghost of her son that died. She has another child but her sightings of her ghost child drives her more insane as her husband don't believe her either. Eventually, her ghost child asks her to committ suicide so they can be together in the afterlife. The mother agrees to this and also plans to take her other child, her daughter with her. She writes a note and takes the daughter with her, and drives to a place where the ghost child sits and waits. The mother goes out and places a rag in the tailpipe before sitting back in, to kill herself and her daughter through exhaust poisoning. While waiting, she sits and talks with her daughter who is unaware, but eventually the daughter talks about her future and among other things, asks her mother if she will come to her wedding, when she has one, which makes the mother realize what she's doing. She goes out to remove the rag, then goes to her ghost child and tells him that she's sorry, but she won't die yet. Her ghost child is sad, but understands.
So again, whether that beginning and the ghost child-story is the same is what I can't remember. Anyone knows the title of any of this?
