Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.

If you look carefully through the examples (and I'm not just being a smartass—some of them are tricky to notice), they are actually all games of some sort, even if one or two of them are games within a work.
So in this case I'd say it's probably worth looking for a more appropriate trope.
Judging by the discussion, I'm guessing most examples would be more appropriate under Anti-Climax.
From Anti-Climax: "The anticlimax is when you're set up for a climax, such as a spectacular, battle-to-end-all-battles between the hero and the villain. It's built up more and more until the suspense is extremely exciting, and the reader/viewer can't wait for it...then the hero kills the villain in one hit, or the villain spontaneously drops dead, or some other random guy shows up and destroys the villain before the hero does anything."
Edit: I might also suggest toning down the indignation on the YMMV.Fairy Tail discussion. It's not called for.
Edited by SolipSchismAnti-Climax Boss can have non-video game examples, but they are few and far-between. Some kind of gameplay (or at least a reference to it) is necessary - for example, Tabletop Games can potentially have them, and there's always in-universe examples for works about video games (such as Lets Plays).
But what that YMMV page was using them for was flat-out misuse.
Edited by MyTimingIsOff^ That was what I was getitng at—all of the remaining non-videogame examples are still about games or video games, just in a different context—either it's a Show Within a Show-style game-within-a-work, or it's a Tabletop Game. It's still a game boss, not just a Big Bad or other type of villain.
Like I mentioned in my last post, Anti-Climax explicitly describes the non-videogame version (i.e., with a villain instead of an actual boss).
Edited by SolipSchismHonestly, there should be a trope for non-gaming examples of Anti-Climax Boss where the baddie just goes down without a fight. Not a YMMV item, but an actual trope.
It's intentional so it isn't a reaction, and adding it as Anti-Climax Boss seems like shoehorning.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Does this mean I should remove the Anti-Climax Boss entry from YMMV.Ojamajo Doremi Rise Of The Shadows?
Edited by TheNerfGuyOr rewrite it as an example of Anti-Climax, if it fits better for it.
135 -> 180 -> 273 -> 191 -> 188 -> 230 -> 300 -> 311

Is Anti-Climax Boss limited to video games? My Timing Is Off insists that it is on YMMV.Fairy Tail, yet there is a non-video games section on the Anti-Climax Boss page itself.
