The TVTropes Trope Finder is where you can come to ask questions like "Do we have this one?" and "What's the trope about...?" Trying to rediscover a long lost show or other medium but need a little help? Head to Media Finder and try your luck there. Want to propose a new trope? You should be over at the Trope Launch Pad.
Final Fantasy IV is our page for that game.
Kiai is the trope for yelling syllables while attacking. Miiiiiight fall under "Blind Idiot" Translation or Good Bad Translation
When something over-the-top or ridiculous makes you love the work rather than loathe it, that's Narm Charm
Well no wonder I couldn't find it. In here it's given a different number. O.o
Cool I didn't know about the Kiai one thanks. And most likely is the blind idiot one. As for the last one -shrug-s I still have the original from 1991 so don't know if it's in that newer version (I'm assuming thats a newer version or different as the cover is different.) Thank you that was fun :D I love coming here to study troupes, or to read about Nightmare Fuel: Anime - makes it easy to search You Tube for kick @ss episodes.
Edited by darkocean This website is sticky. Seriously, it's stuck to my browser.^ Side explanatory note on FF numbers: Some Final Fantasy games didn't get brought over to the US in the right order. Namely, the games actually titled Final Fantasy II, III, and V didn't get brought over until some time later, so when FFIV was translated, it was only the second game to reach the States. In order to avoid confusing Americans by releasing FFIV when FFI was the last one released, it was retitled FFII in English. Then FFVI was the next to come over, and it got retitled FFIII. Then they realized that they were just making it more pointlessly confusing instead of less, and they stopped doing that bullshit. Now when a sequel is brought over they just call it whatever it is, even if its prequel never got brought over. I think some of the Suikoden games have done that, i.e., been translated out of order or missing installments, but keep their original titles anyway.
So what you may think of as FFII and FFIII are actually FFIV and FFVI.
It's best to refer to them by their original titles, generally speaking, but if there's any confusion, just say "FFIV, the one with Cecil and the Black Knights," or "FFVI, the one with Terra and the Espers."

The video game Final Fantasy Two: http://www.ign.com/games/final-fantasy-iv/snes-6214
The character Yang is what I'm looking for in here. Early on in the game Yang does two things that created narm for me. As he's using his kick ability/spell he's shouting this when killing the mooks: "AHHH-CHOOO! Cecil, the white mage and Yang are all being pushed back do to the mooks That it self feels stupid, with the added effect of the translation gone wrong it came out as funny as heck. I can't find anything about that in the narm page in here. Can anyone find it please? If not It deserves to be in here, Imop.
To be clear I'd like the page to this particular troupe example, if it exists that is.
