Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
"Whosever holds this ban-hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of mods."
I just had to say that. Try figuring out what I mean by that in regards to this situation. Also, a revert on both pages will be needed.
Edited by SatoshiBakura^ I can't tell if you're being funny or serious, but I mean that SOB should be suspended or banned. Whichever the moderators feel like doing. Also, they generally use the phrase "ban-hammer" to describe their bannings (as in we will drop the ban-hammer on this jackass who doesn't know that you don't delete subjective things on the pages where the subjective things go). I hope you know.
And lo, the lightning striketh from above, removing one pain in the arse from the troper body.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I was actually being serious. It took my friend to tell me what you meant. Sorry, I'm kinda slow. But thanks for the help. I was also the one who added the DMOS Goku vs. Superman Death Battle, and I can see I'm facing a lot of issues from that by the DC fanatics and the Death Battle fanboys, but it's good to know my right to express my opinion is protected by the entirety of TV Tropes.
@Fighteer: That's hilarious!
@Satoshi Bakura: snerk
@Why Not Now: As long as you follow the rules and guidelines of the site, and are a well-behaved troper who has good, solid reasons for posts and edits they make, the mods here are behind you all the way. No favoritism, not 'not my job', no nothing. They are awesome. As are the rest of the tropers. :)
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettWell, I was more even-tempered on the Wallbanger. This IS a sensitive subject, so I wanted to be as respectful as possible and just highlight where I felt they went wrong, and having Goku start the fight itself IS a Wallbanger for me, a massive DBZ fan, and the fact that they didn't use power scaling would be a Wallbanger for other DBZ fans, but I'm afraid I did go all out on the DMOS page, but that IS way more personal and heated since it's meant to show why the show FAILED for you. Even then, though, I didn't attack anybody here or anyone in real life, so I don't see what the problem is. And I don't get why DC fanatics wanna remove it in any event because their side WON. What does it matter? I just wanted the right to express my opinion and did bring up a lot of good points.
Edited by WhyNotNowIt's not your fault that someone decided to use their 'free speech' to be an asshole.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"^^I just gotta chime in here. Free speech is a government concept. This is a privately owned cite. The concept doesn't apply here. The owners and mods are free to set whatever rules they want and if you don't like them you can find other corners of the net to play in.
As an immediate reference point, Tonathan100 exercised his "free speech" to disagree with your posts. In doing so he got banned for being a jerk and violating the rules.
Edited by Daefaroth This signature says something else when you aren't looking at it.Yeah, true, true.
If he wanted to argue his points, he could have put them under the posts themselves. No. He DELETED them. THAT is censorship. He has the right to express his opinion just as much as me and it would have been an interesting conversation for those who come to look at the Wallbangers.
Ah, ok. Well, then, that makes sense. I was warned once too, gotta be honest, but I've taken steps to avoid that since then, and I've managed to succeed.
Er, no, that's not what censorship is. Authority over you is required to perform censorship.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.^ Not really. All that's required to perform censorship is the ability to censor. You don't have to be a president, or a king, or a god to censor someone. All you need is the ability to prevent others from hearing what that person has to say.
So yes, deleting someone else's text off of a wiki page does count as censoring that person, or at least it counts as an attempt.

Someone on TV Tropes is giving me a very hard time. He sent me a private message complaining about my DMOS on the Death Battle page with obvious Death Battle worship (he seemed like a massive Death Battle fanboy) and after that, he removed both the Wallbangers for Death Battle Majin Buu vs. Kirby and Goku vs. Superman with bullshit claims (because Wallbangers are both subjective and DBZ itself is very inconsistent). The truly galling part is that he claimed to be a huge DBZ fan, yet he chose to only delete the Wallbangers with DBZ characters, none of the others, which seems very suspect because what DBZ fan wouldn't let another DBZ fan express his opinion? I mean, these Wallbangers are subjective, right? They're not supposed to be purely factual? He also wrote in huge massive justifying edits as he removed them, and all of his points were vague, undefinable, and could be countered with virtually any other point or explanation from both series. And now he won't STOP sending me private messages, he's harassing me and calling me a DBZ heretic. He's currently sent me four private messages so far. Can something be done about him? His name is Tonathan100.
