Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
It's fine, but you're not allowed to take on the YMMV/ subpage as the author of the work; because you're not the audience you can't fairly give Audience Reactions.
Edited by wrm5Authors may make work articles for their own material, sure. As noted above, they are only allowed to add objective tropes (and trivia as long as it's based on material that is accessible to the audience). While work articles need crosswicking, being an Entry Pimp to shoehorn your work into every vaguely related trope is discouraged. Further, the author has no special claim to ownership of the article. We've had issues with authors jealously guarding articles about their work against any sort of criticism.
Finally, The Fic May Be Yours But The Trope Page Is Ours. No running off in a snit and demanding we remove an article because you got your feelings hurt.
Edited by Fighteer "It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"^ That said, I do feel it should be mentioned, while we won't let you zap any and all criticism of your work, we also don't allow overt bashing.
In other words, if one of your characters ends up as The Scrappy (just as an example) tropers will be fully allowed to say so, but we're not going to let people make personal attacks against you or post blatant Flame Bait.

Is an author allowed to create a page for their own work? I know they aren't allowed to recommend their work but I don't think creating a page counts as advertising yourself
