I.... don't know. It feels like "always literature" is the obvious answer, but I can't say why. Because of that, I'm not sure the answer is correct.

^Normally I'd agree, but I don't think I've ever seen a light novel example mentioned outside the Anime section. Probably because unless they've been adapted into either an anime or a manga, basically nobody outside of Japan has actually heard of them in the first place. Consider it a necessary evil until such time as we actually manage to get a folder system that more accurately represents the wide variety of mediums discussed on this site.

^^ Anime adapted from light novels always gets severe Adaptation Displacement in the west, with No Export for You averted only if the anime adaptation is sufficiently popular, if ever.
