Yeah. yuugame has been on a crusade to put more focus on the manga than on the anime. While I agree with the general idea (and I've been doing some of it too to smaller extents), this guy is taking it pretty far.
Also, s/he favors the Japanese translation of names over the English one, despite the fact that Wiki policy is to use the official English translation of names. I've been trying to compensate by using the English manga translations, but this guy just wants the Japanese version.
Edited by SatoshiBakura@lalalei2001 - I think the word you want is "objective", not "subjective".
@SatoshiaBakura - Official English should probably be default if that's site policy. If the manga and anime names conflict, I'd say stick to the name that came first for main page purposes, while both should be listed on the character page.
Edited by Karxrida^^ I usually use the names The Other Wiki goes by since using the "which name came first" strategy is only one of the many ways to determine which name to use, and it's a rather flawed one. Wikipedia uses the manga names, so I use those.
Edited by SatoshiBakuraIf i am not mistaken, some of the dub names to the original Astro Boy anime are totally different of the more recent names. Of course, because of the age, i am not sure if said names are the more famous to the American viewers.
^^Another reason to put both on the character pages.
I've read most of the manga and seen much of the (translated) anime, and both have their good and bad points. For instance, I don't like the anime-only Waking the Dragons arc, but I love the also anime-only Capsule Monsters. Pushing one over the other is silly, though. (I've found it useful to think 'alternate universes' and leave it at that.)
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry Pratchett^ Funny thing is, Capsule Monster was commissioned and produced by 4Kids. According to Wikipedia it never got a Japanese dub!
The Protomen enhanced my life.^ I'm not really sure what to do first, though I guess we could work on it one page at a time.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I think the best course of action for the names is for the fans to decide as a community on the discussion page or the fora which one you want to go with, and stick with whatever you choose. If any of the examples on the page are giving TakeThats to the anime for the fans thereof, those should absolutely be removed and the examples be made objective. If yuugame or anyone has strong feelings about the quality of one or the other they are welcome to leave a review, but their dislike of one adaptation does not belong on the main page.
Rocks fall, everyone miraculously survives.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! anime page (and the manga page) seems to have a lot of cases of the manga being seen as superior. While there are plot holes in the anime's version I feel like we should try to be more objective.
Example: "All prime cases of the anime being made Lighter and Softer compared to the manga in order to appeal to an audience on TV."
