Would that be The Rainbow War, a Canadian short film made for Expo 1986 in Vancouver? It’s achieved a bit of notoriety because it features Ryan Stiles and Colin Mochrie, years before Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Someone posted the whole film over on Dailymotion.

I wouldn't say "years" - both were established regulars on Whose Line by 1992. That said, with me being British, 1992 might still be "years before Whose Line" for you.

1986 was “years before” 1992, six to be exact. And the British version of WLIIA aired on Comedy Central.

They were regulars by 1992, and had IIRC appeared as occasional guests well before this (1989-90?). To my mind, "years before" implies a lot more than a handful.
