Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
I'll take A for $500, Alex!
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Strangely enough the the administrivia page covering the situation doesn't say what to do, it just says it's bad.
to the first question: YES. only B=1, A=0 is a bad answer (taking another sip without fixing it.) A=1 B=0 (not drinking anything and fixing it) and A=1 and B=1 (take another sip and fix it, preferably of something non-intoxicating since you're editing.) are good answers, which is what you get when you ask an OR question that isn't an XOR question.
Short version: Definitely fix it and take a sip of your drink while doing so, if you so choose. And the Administrivia page should be altered to say it should be fixed if you are able to edit the page.
Does this also apply to trope sub-pages which tell you which one you are on at the top of the page?
Edited by TheOneWhoTropes Keeper of The Celestial FlameYes, but it's fine for subpages to contain a link to their parent.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"They all have links to the main page in the index bar at the bottom, or they should do.
Keeper of The Celestial FlameMaking the title clicky is a tech change that we aren't going to get in the immediate future. So it's either make a wick or use the index.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"^^ there's a button on your keyboard marked "End" which takes you straight to the bottom of the page. I think there are similar buttons on a Mac keyboard.
Keeper of The Celestial Flame

Question: If you see a trope with a self-referential link in the trope description, do you
a) insta-correct it?
b) take another sip?
