Can't find one. I've never seen this uniform button scenario, but I think this would be very tropable in a more general form of two friends or lovers exchanging personal items - I've seen that many times, although I can't think of an example at the moment.

I don't know about partner. There is a Japanese high-school tradition where a Junior will try to get the top blazer button of a graduating Upperclassman they admire. Usually a girl trying to get a guys... but not always. Off the top of my head, I have seen it enacted or referred to in Lucky Star, Hidamari Sketch, To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, Sasemeki Koto, Minami-ki, Maria Holic (which is one of the funniest series Ive ever seen)I think Kaoru actually tried to get Minamoto's when he was regressed in age in Zettai Karen Children.

A lot of instances. Don't know what it's called.

I'd say friendship trinket is a different matter altogether. The uniform button thing isn't a cherished item as such, it's proof of romantic affection.
