Autoindexed pages like Trivia need to be cut in any case. Otherwise, only pages with lots of inbounds should be redirected - ones with few inbounds ought to be cutlisted as well.

I'd make them redirects and then cutlist them. Not doing so sometimes confuses the cutmaster enough to decline the cut requests. It's usually <10 inbounds (the number which says ".. non-search engine links" next to it on the "related to" page.) for putting on the cutlist.

Yes, turning them into redirects first is best, if only because the cutlist can take a few days before it is cleaned up. In the meantime, it avoids any edit on the wrong subpage. That's what I always do, anyway.
