Ugh, I can't sort through that. Someone give the Cliff Notes version.

Maybe if you could point out some key offenders here?

It's the YMMV page. Wadnelis keeps adding back an Unfortunate Implications example without edit reasons while other people keep removing with edit reasons.

I removed all the examples since none of them had citations but was informed that you don't need them for YMMV pages. Is this true?

There is no such thing as Notability. Period. He might need it because Unfortunate Implications suggests that notability is a nice thing to have.

Although, if it's Edit Wars, then you might want to ask a mod about that.

Unfortunate Implications should be cited, because of the utter subjectivity of it. I suspended one person for a straightforward edit war, notified the other for rudeness, and I'd really like to find out why Larkmarn and Tropesofknowledge are disagreeing on the citations thing.

On that note, could there be a disclaimer on the Notability page that some tropes are suggested/should be/are required to be cited regardless? Or is everything just fine the way it is?

Well, I'm here.

The Unfortunate Implications page says in bold print that "no example may be added without proof that it's not just one person thinking". It doesn't say that only the ones on the trope page need citations and I don't see why example guidelines would differ based on where you add them as that seems counter-productive.

I was part of the thread that added the Citations thing to the Unfortunate Implications page.

We only talked about the examples on the page (which is why there was no wick cleanup afterwards). Any citation requirement for off-page wicks would be a rules creep.
