This is a book I read pieces of while it was published in a newspaper. I remember that at the end, the narrator's father is murdered, and it is stated that he had terminal cancer and deliberately stated he was going to change his will because he couldn't commit a suicide, but knew his new wife was a Black Widow. Then, the final page reveals the child born to the father and the Black Widow is actually the narrator's, because the father had a vasectomy - the narrator's mother had too weak a heart for another pregnancy.
