Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help. It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread for ongoing cleanup projects.

I have nothing to add, other than to clarify that I said "We're supposed to split pages by book. Just like with films, video games, and everything else." The only reason most book pages aren't properly split is because we don't have enough of a literature fanbase here.

Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.

Technically both right.

From "worst" to "best" organization:

  • Everything from a creator on the same page.
  • Works from a creator on the same page, soft-split by a hardline, or folders.
  • Each series/universe having their own page.
  • Each sub-series within the overall universe having their own page.
  • Each work having a separate page.

Whenever possible, pages should move to a lower bracket. A trope that is in play for two out of three books is in play for the series as a whole, but not in each book. Depending on the trope, it may even be a notable aversion to the trope.

The same thing applies to short stories, songs, and web videos. People tend to go the easier route of putting the information on a single page (Creator or Band), but a whole work should get a dedicated page. Then the Recap namespace can be used for portions of the work (such as episodes) as well as a summary of the entire work.
