This was a YA novel from the 80's or 90's, about a teenager whose dad is working with a space agency (NASA?) on a satellite program to observe the Antarctic. The satellite is destroyed due to faulty programming, which his dad gets the blame for, but the main character is certain that someone else sabotaged it. He enlists the help of his internet friends all over the world to hack into different databases to uncover the conspiracy, which sabotaged the satellite to hide some sort of illegal activity they were conducting in the Antarctic. A good chunk of the book is told scrapbook-style, as emails between the main characters and excerpts of documents they uncover. I'm not certain, but this might have been the first of a series. Any ideas?
