I would tend to agree that such things smack of negativity. I don't want to take drastic steps like locking articles unless it gets out of hand, though.

I would agree that the Troll trope is very often misused anyway. Some tropers seems to think it applies to any character with a bit of a prankster side, which I'm sure doesn't fit the definition. I had to clean it up from many subpages of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. The whole thing might need a dedicated trope repair thread (if one doesn't exist already, I didn't check).

I say its a problem of not many people understanding that troll has a specific connotation due to the term being so common on the net. I was part of that discussion and the conclusion was Troll is based on motive.
