Any chance that first movie could be "The Westing Game" (a.k.a. "Get a Clue") from 1997? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120495/

I think this was a made for TV movie on HBO or Showtime that aired a few years ago. A young female writer/blogger? and her family are invited to her rich Uncle's house for Christmas. He is found dead in his bed and the family members have to follow clues to find his will or get the inheritance. It was a cozy mystery, more cheesy than scary. I think the Uncle turns out to have faked his death in the end. I also remember one of the family members gets drunk and falls off the porch or is pushed. The same female detective was in another movie. She is hosting her friend's wedding at her estate. The fiance disappears and she has to follow a series of clues to find him. The fiance is being held in one of the estate's guest cabins by a romantic interest who is trying to get the detective's attention. Thanks in advance!
