I'm having trouble finding actual videos... but the description is making me think of Kate Bush or the Cocteau Twins (and there's a Kate Bush/Elizabeth Fraser (of the Cocteau Twins) duet called "Another Day"). I'll keep looking, and if that jogs something for you or for anyone else, good! :)
Powered up in 1971. Brought online in 1982.It's not "Another Day". She knows Kate Bush and thinks she would have recognized her. We watched a few videos of the Cocteau Twins on YT and they don't seem familiar... but still, thank you very much for trying.^^
On another note, my mother said that for a while she thought it might have been Björk (both because of the looks of the dark-haired woman and the landscape) but she couldn't find any duets with her and another woman that fit. (Neither can I, for that matter...)
Edited by IvarynaIt might help if you could tell us more about the "type" of music. There must have been SOME instruments (or was everyone singing a capella?). Was the music "classical" or "pop" or "rock" or "new age" or what?
What did the people look like? Could you at least tell us their race/ethniciy?
Was there any feeling of "period", were the people wearing modern clothing or some old fashioned clothing. Were the women wearing ballgowns or blue jeans?
Thank you for trying to help! The problem is that, aside from that one scene (and a bit of the melody) my mom can't remember all that much.
With "no outstanding instruments" I meant that she can't remember any of them in particular (I had already asked her). They were there, though, or at least it definitely wasn't capella. I already asked her the other question, too, but only now she understood it, apparently (-_-). It's Pop, she called it a "pop-y" ballade.
There's not that much racial diversity around here, so I just kind of... forgot about that. Huh. They were white/caucasian and the clothing was modern.
Uhm, no, it's not ABBA. That's her generation and all that, she would have recognized them... She looked at me as if I'd suggested Black Sabbath or something when I asked her anyway if it COULD have been them, too... so, apparently, it really wasn't them. Thank you for trying, though.
Edited by IvarynaThat's actually quite possible. Not only do their looks seem to fit, even some of the album covers are from people just standing around in a pretty landscape like my mother described! My mother's going to go through their discography (and possibly, Enya's, too, so it'll take a while) and hopefully, it'll be in there.
I'll post again if it wasn't them, but for now, thank you very much!

My mother's searching for a music video/song she watched somewhere between 1993 and 2006.
It was a duett between two women with rather high voices and in English. She describes the music style as "flowing" and soft, with a nice melody but probably no outstanding instruments.
In the video, you saw a nice landscape with apparently a lot of small hills (like either those small hills from regions with volcanic activity but old enough to already have grass on them or those big "islands" of grass found in fens, she says).
In the video, there also were two men (wearing dark clothing) with the women but my mother can't remember whether they did something or were just standing around.
Generally, she thinks a lot of time in the video was spent with the people standing around in the landscape and the two women singing.
Particularly, she remembers one scene in black and white (she's not sure if everything was in black and white or just some scenes) where the two women were sitting, the men were standing behind them and there was either a small waterfall or the water was coming down a small hill somewhere in the foreground. Also, in this scene she remembers one of the women (with dark hair) wearing a light-coloured top.
Sorry for the probably occasionally broken English, trying to translate her vague descriptions is hard.
Any ideas?
