Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Um, when you say "targeting," you mean making fun of individual tropers? So what? It's not like that certain video series is stating that those individual tropers should kill themselves. There is a line between making fun of people and outright bullying them, and I do not think that that certain video series crossed that line to bullying them.
The admin disagreed. Maybe that's overkill, but that's the way it is. There was a big thread on it, but I stopped paying attention to it pretty quick, so I'm not sure how that all went. If someone remembers the name, they might pop in and give you a link, though.
Writing a post-post apocalypse LitRPG on RR. Also fanfic stuff.Being passive aggressive isn't better than being aggressive. In addition, if you feel something should be restored/changed, bring it up in the right place. I did give you the link before.
Also, you're pretty much making attacks on us as well. This is not helping your case at all.
There's a section on the forums called Content Violation Discussions. Go there. Stop posting this on ATT where it not only accomplishes nothing, but is speaking to the wrong crowd.
Shadow?"You guys are just being in denial about the real problems of TV Tropes."
This is a personal attack. It has nothing to do with figuring out priorities in a productive manner. It's simply saying our opinions and priorities are bad and we should follow what you say just because you say it.
Shadow? My opinion and observation is that he seems to think TV Tropes should run the way he thinks it should, rather then the way the admins want it to.
Everything he claims to be 'trying to help with' so far are items that have been discussed in their own threads on the forum, and either canceled or limited due to content or admin opinion. Most of the time, such canceled or limited material has been discussed thoroughly at some point with interested tropers at large and reasons given. Occasionally it has been after the initial events, such as those leading up to the creation of the 5P council, but there has been discussion and reasons given for actions, even if it has taken time to get to that point.
The admins -who own the site and work out the contracts with the ad suppliers to pay for it- are under no obligation to ask or accept troper input -but they do. Moderators, Cut List Masters, and the 5P council were selected from active and responsible tropers. And any troper can comment and protest as long as they follow the 'don't be a dick' rule.
Speaking of that 'don't be a dick' rule -continual passive-aggressive commentary about policies and rules which are clearly stated and have been thoroughly discussed, and which it is clearly stated are not going to change, goes under nagging. Which tapdances close to being a jerk, if not a dick.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettWell, if you're planning on paying us P5 guys a visit, I suggest you leave the passive-aggressive routine at the door. It's rather annoying.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows."I am not making attacks. I'm just trying to help with real sincerity."
This is feigning objectivity.
Honestly, I don't care about the passive-aggressive attacks. Speaking from personal experience, I know it's possible to make them by mistake. But the "I'm just a concerned independent net-citizen" pose gets old really fast.
Also, if I ran this site, attacking your opponents' good faith would be an auto-suspension offense. "Denial"? Gimme a break.
Edited by nrjxllNo argument there. It's fairly clear he doesn't like the content cleanup from last year, and wants everything that was nixed or restricted put back the way he likes it. Bugging and nagging and aggravating about things that have been decided on and either aren't going to change, or have a dedicated process to go through to see if a change is desirable for the site.
First rule of the site: Don't be a dick.

Um, the page for "A Serbian Film" barely says anything. I know about the Lewdness Policy and all, but if the locked Salo page can show a complete description of its plot, why not the page for "A Serbian Film?" Also, why does TV Tropes not allow a page for that certain video series that mocks the worst of TV Tropes? I know that that certain video series has made fun of us and mocked us, but I watched a couple of those videos and they made me laugh. I really don't think that that certain video series is a danger to the community's "good reputation" at all. I also don't think that the maker of that certain video series is an asshole at all either. After all, Rational Wiki had page on TV Tropes too, remember? It stated out TV Tropes's good points, but also TV Tropes's bad points, and you still have a page on Rational Wiki. Would you put Rational Wiki on the Permanent Red Link Club just because it had a few mean words about you? Well, so far that hypothetical event hasn't happened yet and I hope it doesn't happen. I know that some of the negative criticism of TV Tropes can go too far, but most of the negative criticism of TV Tropes I found was backed up with evidence and was intelligent. Do you know which site some of the legit negative criticism came from? It came from some other notorious site that you guys won't allow a page on. That notorious site is full of unfunny trolls, I know, but sometimes when they got very good points that it would be wise for you guys to listen to. So I think it's okay for TV Tropes to laugh at itself once in a while. So yeah, I guess when it comes to Troper Types, I'm an Ultraconservative Troper, and I'm proud of it. Please don't ban me for any this.
