There was a page on the This Troper series before it started targeting individual tropers. Then it got cut.

Um, when you say "targeting," you mean making fun of individual tropers? So what? It's not like that certain video series is stating that those individual tropers should kill themselves. There is a line between making fun of people and outright bullying them, and I do not think that that certain video series crossed that line to bullying them.

The admin disagreed. Maybe that's overkill, but that's the way it is. There was a big thread on it, but I stopped paying attention to it pretty quick, so I'm not sure how that all went. If someone remembers the name, they might pop in and give you a link, though.

If you're going to keep posting passive-aggressive walls of text complaining about the content policy, at least drop the transparent attempts at feigning objectivity. They're annoying.

I am not feigning objectivity. The reason why I am not using an aggressive tone is because I don't want to get banned. You guys are just being in denial about the real problems of TV Tropes. That, my friend, is annoying.

Being passive aggressive isn't better than being aggressive. In addition, if you feel something should be restored/changed, bring it up in the right place. I did give you the link before.

Also, you're pretty much making attacks on us as well. This is not helping your case at all.

There's a section on the forums called Content Violation Discussions. Go there. Stop posting this on ATT where it not only accomplishes nothing, but is speaking to the wrong crowd.

I am not making attacks. I'm just trying to help with real sincerity. I will go to the Content Violation Discussions. This is the last query I am making in ATT.

"You guys are just being in denial about the real problems of TV Tropes."

This is a personal attack. It has nothing to do with figuring out priorities in a productive manner. It's simply saying our opinions and priorities are bad and we should follow what you say just because you say it.

The worst part is, if we take any extreme measures, he's going to run to whatever site hates us at the moment and claim we're jackbooted Nazis for not dealing with the passive-aggressiveness.

My opinion and observation is that he seems to think TV Tropes should run the way he thinks it should, rather then the way the admins want it to.

Everything he claims to be 'trying to help with' so far are items that have been discussed in their own threads on the forum, and either canceled or limited due to content or admin opinion. Most of the time, such canceled or limited material has been discussed thoroughly at some point with interested tropers at large and reasons given. Occasionally it has been after the initial events, such as those leading up to the creation of the 5P council, but there has been discussion and reasons given for actions, even if it has taken time to get to that point.

The admins -who own the site and work out the contracts with the ad suppliers to pay for it- are under no obligation to ask or accept troper input -but they do. Moderators, Cut List Masters, and the 5P council were selected from active and responsible tropers. And any troper can comment and protest as long as they follow the 'don't be a dick' rule.

Speaking of that 'don't be a dick' rule -continual passive-aggressive commentary about policies and rules which are clearly stated and have been thoroughly discussed, and which it is clearly stated are not going to change, goes under nagging. Which tapdances close to being a jerk, if not a dick.

Well, if you're planning on paying us P5 guys a visit, I suggest you leave the passive-aggressive routine at the door. It's rather annoying.

"I am not making attacks. I'm just trying to help with real sincerity."

This is feigning objectivity.

Honestly, I don't care about the passive-aggressive attacks. Speaking from personal experience, I know it's possible to make them by mistake. But the "I'm just a concerned independent net-citizen" pose gets old really fast.

Also, if I ran this site, attacking your opponents' good faith would be an auto-suspension offense. "Denial"? Gimme a break.

All of the "please don't ban me for expressing my opinion" crap is getting pretty old. That's one of the things we mean by "passive-aggressive"- that's all but accusing the site admins of just banning whoever disagrees with them.

I suspect this guy's just here to try and stir the pot, anyway.

No argument there. It's fairly clear he doesn't like the content cleanup from last year, and wants everything that was nixed or restricted put back the way he likes it. Bugging and nagging and aggravating about things that have been decided on and either aren't going to change, or have a dedicated process to go through to see if a change is desirable for the site.

First rule of the site: Don't be a dick.
